A few days ago, the Huawei official released the veil from the highly anticipated P40 series, which consists of the Huawei P40, P40 Pro and P40 Pro Plus. Like its siblings, the P40 Pro has a premium glass body. Just a few days after the device was announced, the image of a broken P40 Pro appeared online.
The picture shows a Frosted Silver variant of the P40 Pro with a broken rear glass in the upper left corner near the rear view camera. The damage will most likely have been caused by a serious fall. There are no details on how it happened, but this should be expected from an all-glass design device. The front of the device was not displayed. So we cannot say whether it is broken.
Because the Huawei P40 series is not yet available in China and the world market, the model may be a media tester or display unit for retail stores, or even an internal prototype. This should explain why the owner did not reveal his identity or the cause of the damage. The P40 Pro has a soft, matte glass finish that doesn't seem to have gorilla glass protection. So see this as a warning that the P40 Pro will be fragile. Maybe it's more fragile than the P40 Pro Plus with a ceramic case.
The Huawei P40 Pro costs from 999 euros for the 8 GB RAM and 256 GB storage model. We thought Huawei would make it more durable. Otherwise, you need to buy a protective case next to the flagship to avoid damage.
The device is expected to be launched in China on April 8.
